Visualization is the creation of a mental image. As we lead, improvising to innovate, structuring implementation and realizing our innovation and implementation, we begin this in our imagination. Our vision guides our actions and, with communication, those of our followers.
If we are content to passively follow (see opposite corner) we don't need a visualization, either our own or someone else's. We just go ahead respecting, responding and conforming. Alternatively, if we spend our time in visualization and not following the guidance this provides, we have no leadership and our visualization is a fantasy.
When we are fully exercising our leadership, our visualization provides a context for organization, collaboration and contribution.
