Realizing satisfies our needs to innovate and implement. Our visualizations are internal and our contributions external realizations of our innovation and implementation.
Realizing contrasts with respecting (see opposite edge) the values of leading and following. Respecting honors our role choices while realizing honors our creative and constructive values. If we overly focus on realizing at the expense of respecting, we limit our collaboration and organization. Conversely if we under emphasize realizing, we have plenty of organization and collaboration but inadequate visualization and contribution.
Realizing is the leadership practice that brings about innovation and implementation, implicitly acknowledging that both are necessary for sustainability.
"What exactly is success? For me it is to be found not in applause, but in the satisfaction of feeling that one is realizing one's ideal."
- Anna Pavlova
"Achievement results from work realizing ambition."
- Adam Ant
"It has never been my object to record my dreams, just the determination to realize them."
- Man Ray
"Visualization and belief in a pattern of reality activates the creative power of realization."
- A. L. Lina
"The eruption of lived pleasure is such that in losing myself I find myself; forgetting that I exist, I realize myself."
- Raoul Vaneigem
